At Petty Creek, nature is more than a backdrop—it’s part of your stay. Whether you're sipping coffee at sunrise or hiking through the pines, you might cross paths with the creatures who call this land home.

Petty Creek Mountain Ranch is connected to Lolo National Forest on all four sides of the spanning 710 acres. We are privileged to be able to see BigHorn Sheep Bobcat, Coyote, Fox, Whitetail Deer, Mule Deer, Elk (Wapiti), Black Bear (Black, Cinnamon, and Blonde), Wolf, Pine Squirrel, Otter, Skunk, Turkey’s, Owls, Bald Eagles, Golden Eagles and more. The Lore in the Canyon still has a looking for Bigfoot (Sasquatch) as recorded in 1941.

Graceful Grazers

Whitetail and mule deer are frequent visitors. In fall, elk herds bugle across the hills, creating a wild symphony you’ll never forget.

Winged Majesty

From bald eagles and red-tailed hawks to owls at dusk, the skies above Petty Creek are full of silent hunters and feathered beauty.

Wild Encounters

If you're lucky, you may spot a shy black bear, fox, or coyote. Be sure to observe from a distance and always respect their space.
